Caio is a Pro Natural Bodybuilder from Brazil living in USA.
He is a graduate in Strength and Conditioning and in 2017 he conquered his Pro card in bodybuilding, which for the community was a mutual conquest, since it was followed by thousands via his YouTube channel. He produced a movie to promote natural bodybuilding and has also written a book about the subject.
His mission is to teach and to aggregate value of having a great shape, through proper exercise and dieting knowledge and practices, without going for crazy solutions that are often preached in the interwebz.
The aim of this project was to deliver a clean and unusual visual solution for a fitness/sports brand. In order to do that, we both agreed we had to avoid using obvious visuals, such as flexing poses and silhouette so that he can also use the mark on future business ventures.
My to go inspiration were high-end brands such as Louis Vuitton and Armani, but I did not make any moodboard, specifically. We exchanged a few emails and a few images and we knew where to take the project from there.
If you Google sports logos, they majority is red and blue and usually depicting a mascot (when for a team). If you do the same for bodybuilding, you will get red, blue and a lot of flexing figures, a lot of dumbells and occasional kettlebells. How original.
For an individual related to bodybuilding or training, a logo couldn’t look the same as all others already do, so that’s why we opted for the hand lettered monogram/logo.
